About Us:

The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is a central location for safety and security information pertaining to all independent school districts and junior college districts in the state of Texas. Services provided include training, research, and technical assistance related to successful safety and security programs. In addition, TxSSC provides services and resources to encourage and support healthy students and communities. Also, TxSSC collects a variety of health and safety data for the purpose of state reporting.

Funding:

The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is an official university-level center at Texas State University-San Marcos, a member of the Texas State University System. TxSSC is a non-profit organization funded in part through a direct appropriation from the Texas Legislature within Texas State University's budget. Additional funding is secured via grants and contracts from other funding sources to include the Texas Department of State Health Services and the
Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division.
