Texas Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Toolkit

For the third year in a row, the Texas Dating Violence Prevention Team is distributing a comprehensive kit of materials to help schools and communities counteract dating violence and promote healthy dating.

The toolkit includes materials from the American Bar Association, Centers for Disease Control and Liz Claiborne along with Texas-specific materials, including:

  • Posters
  • Warning signs
  • Fact sheets
  • Suggestions for classroom activities
  • Videos
  • Brochures
  • Wallet cards

Toolkits include everything schools and communities need to observe National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Week, February 4-8, 2008, and address the issue year round.

Thank you so much for registering your interest on this issue at HealthyTeenDating.org.

Unfortunately, our initial pilot of 200 FREE toolkits have been assigned to other schools and recipients. We are trying to obtain funding to give out more free kits this year, and we are working on getting permission from our content sources to sell the toolkits to you at cost. We will contact you as we know more and updates on this will be posted at HealthyTeenDating.org so check back in. Of course, next year, after we have evaluated this pilot program, we will make an improved version of the toolkit available through this same site.

In the meantime, you might want to check out last year's materials, many of which are posted online at www.governor.state.tx.us/divisions/women/work/violence/toolkit to help you prepare your school or district for National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Week February 4-8, 2008.

You can click on the drop down arrow to choose your format on which to view it.

You can view it in QuickTime, Windows Media Player, or Real One Player.
